Shangri La is situated on a plateau 3,200 meters above sea level in Northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The town is in a region that is blanketed in sunshine for most of the year. Daily flights from Kunming, Lhasa & Shanghai make air travel very convenient and efficient. Driving from Lijaing is about 3 hours, and from Dali is 6 approximately hours. Arro Khampa is just steps from the historic Old Town square and market place.

Dukezong Ancient Town

This quaint little Tibetan town in Shangri La County, in the Yunnan Province of China, is more than 1,300 years old. There are a few historical statues and building waiting to be explored here.

Diqing Museum

Established in the year 1996, the Diqing Museum is home to ancient relics that date back to more than 6,000 years back. The achievements of the past fifty years of the Autonomous Prefecture are also showcased here.

Zhongxin zhen gong tang

The best destination to witness the majestic views of the snow capped peaks that surround the entire town. There are a few temples and pagodas to explore here, along with a vibrant ambience.
